University Community Orchestra to Celebrate 50th Anniversary on Saturday
Bloomsburg, PA (04/27/2023) — The Bloomsburg University Community Orchestra's 50th Anniversary Concert will be held Saturday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m. in Haas Center for the Arts, Mitrani Hall. The orchestra is directed by Dr. David Tedford.
The program will include:
"On Top of the World" by Brian Balmages, "Meditation" by Jack Jarrett, "Roaring Fork" by Roger Zara, Franz Schubert's Symphony No. 8 "Unfinished" 1st movement, "Pavane" by Gabriel Faure, and Celebration Fanfare," by David Tedford.
Many alumni and community members are returning to perform with the orchestra, and former orchestra director Mark Jelinek (1986 to 2015) will return to conduct the Schubert piece. Current orchestra director David Tedford composed the Celebration Fanfare in honor of the 50th anniversary of the orchestra.
