Bloomsburg University Names Top Honor Graduates for Fall 2021; Commencement Ceremonies This Weekend

Bloomsburg, PA (12/07/2021) — Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania named its top honors graduates in each college for the Fall 2021 semester. The graduates will be recognized at the university's Fall Commencement in-person ceremonies on Friday, Dec. 10, and Saturday, Dec. 11.

Jessica Kole, an accounting major from Mount Holly Springs, is the top honor graduate from the Zeigler College of Business. She plans to further her education at Bloomsburg University in the masters of accountancy program and to work on passing the CPA Exam. She also has a summer internship lined up with Boyer & Ritter LLC in Camp Hill.

Jessica Brenfleck, an early childhood (Pk-4) major from Landsdale, earned the honor from the College of Education. She recently accepted a third-grade long-term substitute position in Cincinnati and plans to apply for a full-time position for the Fall of 2022. Her dream would be teaching kindergarten, first, or second grade.

Kylee Younger, a history and secondary education major from Bloomsburg, earned the honor from the College of Liberal Arts. Younger is planning to become a high school history teacher and attend graduate school in the future.

Madison Moody, a biology major with a concentration in natural history from Sunbury, earned the honor from the College of Science and Technology. Moody has already started graduate school at BU through the 3+2 program for an M.S. in biology. She just completed her second semester and is projected to graduate at the end of the Fall 2022 semester.

The Fall 2021 commencement ceremonies will be held on Friday, Dec. 10, and Saturday, Dec. 11.

On Friday, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m., the School of Graduate Studies and the Zeigler College of Business will hold commencement ceremonies with Dr. Carolyn LaMacchia, chair of the Department of Information Technology, Analytics, and Business Education, the guest speaker.On Saturday, Dec. 11, at 10 a.m., the College of Education and the College of Science and Technology will graduate with Dr. Todd Hoover, chair of the Department of Teaching and Learning, the guest speaker.Ceremonies will conclude Saturday, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m. with the College of Liberal Arts ceremony with Meredith Grimsley, chair of the Department of Art and Art History, the guest speaker.Masks are required of all participants and supporters (age 2 and above) inside Haas Center for the Arts regardless of vaccination status. Clear bag guidelines will be enforced.
