Bloomsburg, PA (04/10/2023) — For additional information, contact: Tom Schaeffer; tschaeffer@bloomufdn.org
The Bloomsburg University Foundation will host its second annual Huskies All In Giving Challenge beginning Thursday, April 13 at 8 a.m. through Friday, April 14 at 3:07 p.m.
The fundraising event will last for 1,867 minutes as a tribute to the year Henry Carver, Bloomsburg's first president, laid the Foundation for the signature building, which bears his name.
A menu of giving options is accessible at giving.bloomu.edu/HuskiesAllIn. It allows donors to designate any specific academic area, athletic team, program, or scholarship they wish to support when making their gift.
During the Inaugural Giving Challenge in 2022, The Foundation eclipsed 600 donors during the one-and-a-half-day fundraiser. This year they are hoping to increase participation by attracting 800 donors. Throughout the 1,867-minute period, the Foundation will promote numerous challenges on social media to help boost donor engagement. For the latest updates leading up to and during the Huskies All In Giving Challenge, follow the BU Foundation on Facebook and Instagram @bufoundation.
The most notable matching gift challenges come courtesy of alumni couple Joel '96 and Kelly '96 Showalter, who have generously agreed to provide an additional $50,000 in scholarship funds if 800 alumni and friends make a gift of any size and a $35,000 matching gift pledge from Matt Thran '84 and his wife Jennifer to support BU's Nursing Simulation lab. An Early Bird challenge is underway in which one donor will be randomly selected and provide an additional $500 to their designated area of choice.
