Bloomsburg Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma Business Student Honors Society Earns Highest Honors Designation

Bloomsburg, PA (09/09/2022) — The Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) Business Student Honors Society chapter at Commonwealth University's Bloomsburg campus has been awarded the Highest Honors status for the 2021-22 academic year.

BGS is an International Business honors society that recognizes and honors top performing students around the world studying at schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Each year, the top 10% of undergraduate students and top 20% of graduate students are invited to join.

Scott Mehall, assistant professor in the department of technology, analytics and workforce learning, is in his fourth year as the group's advisor. This is the first time the Bloomsburg chapter of BGS has received the "highest" status since the 2018-2019 academic year. Honors status is determined through a variety of criteria including events held by the chapter, resources used from the organization, membership, impact, and more.

"Congratulations to our students and Dr. (Scott) Mehall for achieving high honors from the Beta Gamma Sigma student honor society," said Bashar W. Hanna, president of Commonwealth University. "Their hard work and dedication has earned them this well-deserved honor.
